I am about to get an offer from FB L6 IC with 13 years experience in Amazon & MS. What offer should I be looking for?
A LOT
IC is not E6. Probably half the equity as E6
Facebook E6 is for those in software engineering role only. IC6 is for data scientists, pms, security people etc.. In this case op is IC6 not E6
200k base, 50k signon.. rsus start from 500k+
Don't assume you'll get an E6 offer. The bar is really high.
Does FB has titles? What is E6 title?
Nope, job title is whatever you want.
If someone says principal, what might they be?
Nothing is interesting so far
Sorry if my earlier comment was rude, I am looking for TC distribution for FB L6 IC
@laplace FB uses IC in a specific way: any role but engineer. It’s not really confusing if you know it. IC6 comp is approximately E5 base + E4 stock.
IC6 base ranges from $160k to $200k or so. Equity varies dramatically from $100-400k. PM comp is tiered to match eng which is generally one level ahead of other functions from a comp standpoint.
Depends on how well you performed during interview and how badly does the team need you (expertise match, at E6), engineer offers usually range from 400-600K. If both are good, 500K annually to start should be reasonable and expected. based + E6 annual bonus target (a little hard for E6, but most get it) + (signon + rsu) / 4. When you receive your first RSU, you will be pleased - best of luck. I put sign on in as that will be diluted by your refreshers in the next years, and that could be 150-200K in certain cases.
