FB employees. Is it hard going back to startup?

Salaries aside, does Hack and company tooling make it hard to go to a start-up? How's your Java/nodejs, Kotlin skills? Ever feel like those golden handcuffs are putting you behind somehow(how so?)? My interviewers seem to know little about devops too or how to setup a prod environment from the ground up. @startup @fb

Yeah sometimes.

Can I ask how so? I'm fielding offers but have some hesitation

Some startups require domain experience. Others don’t - their philosophy is if you are smart you can learn the other stuff. So it depends what philosophy your company has

I have 16 years of startup experience before joining FB, so the only thing hard about going back is the 75% pay cut I'd take. :(

Were you pipped out ?

Ha, no. I'm still at FB. I have no plans to go to startups, though.
