Facebook Menlo Park, E5, SWE Base: 180k Bonus: 15% RSU: 400k (4 years) Sign on: 30k 9YOE How to provide datapoints for negotiation / how to negotiate without counter offer.
Looks low if for SWE or PM.
Sounds high for a PM. Low for SWE.
SWE?
yes, SWE
Sounds like, "we don't have an E4 role for you, bur we need Engs to work, so here's an E5 offer with E4 max comp" You can probably just ask for more RSU. RSU is the easiest to get bumped.
Is RSUs usually paid for by the employee out of their base salary or is it usually paid for by the company?
RSUs are considered additional income from the company
Agreed with the above responses. You can probably ask for more sign-on but fb isn't desperate so go for more RSUs - you need at least 600k to meet a 350k-400k avg.
Damn this looks really low (for an E5) is this what I can expect now? Guess they're not that desperate for people anymore
i got the max offer last week. OP is being low balled.
What is max offer? 200K base, 800K RSU, 100K sign on?
For e4 maybe.... and even then it’s Not great.
Its super low ball for E5
they won't budge unless you say you make more now. It's not a bad offer don't listen to the trolls here
Not a bad offer? Can you support your argument?
people are comparing pre covid offers to now without accepting the economy outlook 1 year, 2 years from now. Also E5 is a remote position now. They can hire people anywhere. there is much more supply now.
They are lowballing you. Please ask for more!
TBH: My L4 at LinkedIn 5y ago was better (also easier interview).
What position is this for?
