L5 swe offer. Those who do team-match during bootcamp, do typically people pick the first team that asks them to join? Or do decide only when they have multiple teams asking them to join their teams and pick from them? For the team they decide to join, generally how many times do they talk with the HM of that team before saying yes? I'm asked to do team-match before offer details are shared. It's hard to do it with just 1-2 chats with the HM. I had a team interested in me 1 week ago, but recruiter seems to want to say yes quickly to it. Is that usual? #offer
If you are already hired for a specific team, there wont be a team match. But if not, you can do that later during the bootcamp. And you dont have to say yes to the first team approaching you. You can take your time, talk to multiple teams and then choose ππ»
have to team-match before the offer/joining, but recruiter is pushing to say yes to the team whose HM is asking me to join.
This is something new, not sure why. Probably that is a team least liked by the bootcampers. So they want you to commit beforehand. Weird!
Is boot camp only for SWE or also for PM positions?
Any position requiring coding/ understand coding. So probably TPM also go through the bootcamp.
I also got a Facebook offer recently and will do boot-camp. Based on my talk to recruiters, if you are very good for some area(for example AI), you will be pre-allocated. If your interview performance is not good enough, they have no confidence you can fit any team, you will be asked for pre-allocated team too. If you can't find a team, your offer will be canceled. You'd better find a team ASAP.
I am in a similar situation, can I DM for some guidance?
Bootcamp team select is much better than getting preallocated. Ask recruiter if you can be unallocated.
+1
@fb asked them and they said not an option. need to do team-match before offer. during bootcamp, how often do people say no to HMs that are literally asking them to join? when people say they considered 5 teams during bootcamp, it means all 5 HMs were asking them to join their team?
