Who can explain me what and how exactly Trump falsified business entries
For almost an entire year or more I have been slogging my ass off putting in hard work at transitioning teams services from legacy to newer infrastructure and a shit deal of manual work too at times. One magical day , a Meta recruiter contacts me on LinkedIn and inspires me to interview for roles at Meta. I went ahead and scheduled an interview date in two months from then. Disappointing however is the fact that with transitioning services - things are not black and white and you might be doing a shit ton of work like a donkey and still getting a service to a successfully onboarded state would differ vastly. But heck , you gotta show ‘impact’ right ?? So I continued to work and work hard to cover my ass since I am on an h1b and can’t lose my job at Microsoft in golden dreams of a better job. I have postponed my Meta interviews twice now. Somehow the interviewer had his trust and faith in me , and although a bit miffed - agreed to reschedule it a third time saying this would be the final chance. I am 21 days away from the interview and guess what I’m doing ???? All day all night working on the nuts and bolts of the annoying legacy work and meetings and crap . No incentive nothing Why am I unable to switch gears and do some interview prep ? What’s my blocker ? Someone please be kind enough to read this entire worrisome note and offer me some good advice No trolling ! Stuff’s serious
Yoe and TC at Microsoft?
It’s hard to find time to prep. I thoroughly prepped for 3 months and got to my final round. In the end they said I didn’t get optimal for 1 coding round and I was rejected. Don’t be too hard on yourself. Go for it.
Meta ?
Yes. E4/5.
I understand how time consuming work like that can be. Maybe put some time on your calendar for 1-2 hours of prep everyday and force yourself to follow the timetable? And spend more time on prep on weekends.
Thanks dude . Yep I try to get to this either early in the morning ( before getting started with work n meetings ) — but always end up waking up late 😞 This was confusing to me because clearly multiple strong reasons are behind me wanting to switch - boring work , manager who doesn’t care, and the kindness of my recruiter in accommodating this. But turns out procrastination is the killercthat keeps winning everyday 🥹 I am mad at myself for not investing in opportunities that perhaps would help me grow
After work , I feel exhausted or want to just watch a movie or a series or read a book.
Set healthy boundaries around your work, there's an infinite amount of it, but you don't have infinite amounts of time. Rewards at your current job do not scale linearly with your effort. You may need to acknowledge that you're more comfortable doing familiar work than prepping for interviews so you could be procrastinating that way, you could try setting calendar blocks dedicated to interview prep. Start by making an interview prep plan with a list of todos and knock them off one by one.
🙌 thanks for the motivation and the pointers ! Gives me a direction and perspective
Stop postponing the due date.
I believe you already know what you have to do. Start slacking, it is completely fine.
You’re worried about your h1b but… you’re going to Meta?
Take a week off and prepare and interview. I did it last year. I didn’t get the job, but the prep payed off. “Just do it”
I like this bro. No one talks about the burnout that comes from doing work that doesn’t call out to you . However, come weekend or some time off I end up feeling like I want to get away from shit Seattle weather
Ask a psychologist
Safe job, low pay: Micro Relatively unsafe job, high pay: Meta
Umm .. what are you trying to tell me dude ?
Do the interview prep and leave msft if you're bored. They'll anyway hire you back at a higher level next year with a new grant if you'd wanna return back.
