So tired of this fucking place. What's Boeing like for a SWE? How's the wlb? Is the work interesting? TC 280k
Don't. They only value the core aero engineers.
What could possibly compel a SWE to seek out Boeing of all companies as an employer? Genuinely curious. I can’t imagine it’s the challenge/complexity, as all the interesting technical projects there are solved by the aero engineers.
You get to have great impact, especially if working on the MCAS system https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boeing_737_MAX_groundings
I used to work there before this job, I enjoyed it infinitely better at Boeing and regretted switching WLB was incredible. I mean just look at the Blind rating, it's 4.5 Since it's a government defence contractor, once the contract is secured, it's basically impossible to lose the funding and there are absolutely no deadlines. No pressure at all to meet the deadlines given and they are constantly pushed back years and years I literally worked ~10 hours on average a week there and 2.5 of those were meetings The work is very interesting, and I think is part of why the WLB is so good and work is slow. Almost everybody works on some critical system on an airplane or defence system and there's so much complexity to it that no FAANG web app/server work has ever come close to, even the 1 billion+ scale ones
Thanks!
Terrible. They make SWEs bolt the doors on.
I’d believe it
Lol
