Just catching up with blind. What’s the new FIRE NW target given we have all time high inflation? TC-350K
Idk i wanna be at home all day with just 800k . Hatw going to work
What's your TC?
Updated
It always was 10M
Working in msft and $10M as target? Are you a partner at msft? AFAIK principals at msft don’t make that kind of money to reach this target.
May be you have a Rich family or spouse or a partner and above at msft
Wasn’t it something like 25 * yearly expenses?
$15M to be comfortable, but you can squeeze by with 10M. If you don't have kids, then $6M should be more than enough
I do have a kid. $15M? At this TC, 6M is a stretch and you say 15M. Wow! Now I feel very sad 😞
Squeeze by with 10M!?
$3.8M for me. 88% there, so hopefully soon.
That depends on age, if you’re on your 50s sure Someone on their low 40s needs to account for more years ahead
Happy for you! Your stats look more realistic than some of them quoted in this post!
Buy 30 acres of forested land for $70k. Learn how to hunt and build. Retire.
Not my cup of tea, friend!
ngl organic wood fired squirrel once a week sounds 👌🤤🤌
I think $3M with a paid off house and kids are out of the house.
$23.8M is the agreed upon amount now
Okay. How can we earn that? Any tips? Msft wont land me there.
Save 100k every year in 401k, Roth IRA, and brokerage. It'll grow to over 23m in 30 years. Be smart about playing the long game with compound interest
Depends on your spending
Just wanted to know what other people on blind think. I live HcOL - Seattle
I live MCOL and could probably FIRE off 4M with a good deal of safety (or just move to LCOL). I don't believe in FIRE though and have over 9M
