I’m a platinum level rider on Uber and I’ve taken over a few thousand rides in my lifetime, not including at least a thousand times I’ve ordered from Uber Eats. I’m a power user on Uber. For the last few rides I took and and the last few times I ordered on Uber Eats, I selected the option to pay using Apple Pay. Somehow the app switches to using cash as payment option. I also checked that card on Apple Pay is active. My rating is being impacted by your faulty systems. Drivers think that my cash tip is going towards the cost of the ride. I’ve been in Mexico the past few months and the support isn’t helpful either. Cause they all speak Spanish and can’t understand shyt. YOU HAVE ONE JOB, Uber engineers. ONE FVKING JOB to make the Uber app work correctly. Fix your faulty systems. Shame on you LC monkey L5a engineers making $400k TC. Dara, if you’re reading this, you’re really fvking the company man. I had this same problem 4 days ago, it wouldn't let me switch payment source. Eventually I had to delete the other payment sources until my preferred one came up. This was on Uber. Was trying to switch away from the company credit card to my personal one, and it wouldn't let me

Why don’t you use public transport. few thousand uber rides is ridiculous. That’s about 1 a day!
Uber rewards program. The more rides you take, the more benefits you get. I’m a platinum level member on their rewards program
Yeah but it isn’t like benefits you get will be worth more than the price you paid for them. A guy I know suffers from something similar. He feels more incentivized to spend money on things he doesn’t need because of his rather good credit card rewards.

We have rotten culture of Build, get promoted, and forget. Fixing bug is not an OKR Fixing bug is never promo material. Fixing bug is never worth it We fucking don’t even have a CTO 😔😔😔😔 Product thinks - Maintenance means allocating a headcount to EM. Now that headcount will always be gobbled up by other Product overruns. Whenever in doubt - Product OKR vs Bug fix. We either 1. Build New product or 2. Ask 25 headcount to rewrite Product.

No I’m not. I reached out to support (I have Platinum support btw.) It’s been over 6 hours but no response. Also, support usually gives me boilerplate answers, they’re NEARLY TOTALLY useless. They don’t even care to read the entire problem before responding. And support won’t be able to understand that this is an ACTUAL bug. They’ll just say that I chose to pay with cash, which is false.
Did you know you can change a payment method after a purchase as well

What does this mean ‘’Drivers think that my cash tip is going towards the cost of the ride’’? Why cash tip is worse than tipping through a card or digital pay?
I give them a cash tip at the end of the ride RIGHT BEFORE they give me a rating on the app. This way, they RECOGNIZE that I tipped them. They are delighted to receive a tip and proceed to give me a 5 star rating for the ride. I am guaranteed to get a 5 star rating FOR EVERY SINGLE RIDE. This boosts my rider rating. The higher your rating as a rider, the more the drivers feel comfortable accepting your rides. With a high rating you get matched with drivers quicker and your wait times reduce by a little. I’m a power user on Uber, I take between 1-4 rides each day. Such micro-optimizations help a lot. In the last 8 years, I’ve never had the need to own, park, maintain, insure or repair a car. I don’t have any headache of owning a car. All of this thanks to Uber. This is my way of maintaining what I have.

Uber Eats has also integrated some of those grocery retailers. It’s called “Cornershop by Uber.” Now the Eats app is cluttered with these grocery retailers (that are closed for the day) when I try to order food at 12am. What a fvking joke.
