Hello everyone, I received a letter of intent, which I accepted, from Raytheon in Herndon VA about 2 years ago. I had my Poly done back in Sept 2018 and still waiting for my clearance to go through. I’ve called the hiring manager and emailed asking for status but haven’t gotten any response yet. It is really taking very long stressfull time so I’m checking if there’s people who had gone through this lengthy process and share some input as far as the clearance process (Ply involved) with Raytheon goes. Does it really take this long?
Security clearance process goes through the OPM. What Boeing said. You may get an interim earlier that *may* allow you to start work, may not. All depends on your role and what you’ll be doing. Raytheon, the HC, or your recruiter won’t know what the status is until they get an update. It takes forever, so be prepared.
I would continually follow up with the FSO. My coworker had their clearance dropped from investigation and did not realize it until many months later.
Yeah, the last I spoke with the hiring manager she said that they’re just like me waiting for an update from the DoD. So, is it 18 months to 2 years after the polygraph or sending the SF86?
Are you going for TS/SCI? There was a huge backlog few years ago but it’s a lot better now. It’s anywhere from appx 6 months to 2 years. Google the current time. There’s some clearance forums that’ll give you a more current timeframe.
I honestly don’t know the clearance level! They told me when I first started the hiring process that the position, Sr Intelligence Analyst, will not require clearance but, be prepared to do a Polygraph which I did and months after that I received an investigator in my house asking me and my references tons of questions. Could it be a TS? Not sure!
Are you talking about CI poly or FS poly? TS/SCI with CI poly should only take maximum 6 months unless you had some fucked up history and investigators cant get hold of your references.
What's the TC like with TS/SCI with poly? Is it worth going through all this?
Not really.. unless you can get into Microsoft or AWS where they pay you clearance bonus
What's the TC like for msft and aws clearance jobs?
Colleague got TS done just over two years. I did it in 7mo because I actually worked .gov prior to coming to private sector. There is a reason TS folks are in demand.
TC?
Still waiting too. Well now I know it will take 1-2 years. I got interim TS.
Poly so TS/SCI? Probably 18 months to 2 years It’s not Raytheon it’s DOD that is backlogged
