There’s going to be an emergency shut down
I recently got an offer from Meta for E5. I am an L3 at google. So far I haven’t led huge projects yet. I have done independent work and led a small public API launch at my previous company. When I joined Google, they down leveled me. I had a previous offer from Microsoft at 61 but instead ended up taking L3 at google. I know Meta E5 can be brutal. They are offering almost double my current pay in MPK. I am not sure what to do? Jumping 2 levels can be a great career move but is also scary at the same time. Current TC: 200k Offer TC: 400k YOE: 4
I wonder how Google downlevel and lowball and arrogance would fare these days
Stop shit posting, and go back and finish moving the protos yo.
Not shit posting
If not a troll post, then take it. Yoe?
It is not, I am scared about the pip culture at meta
And also I don’t want it to affect my mental health so much
I'd accept, you should not stay L3 for long. If things at Meta don't work, then move on, you gained experience and will be better off anyways
This is great advice
If there is no visa related anxiety in case of PIP absolutely go for it. Even in the worst case you have doubled your floor for salary negotiations for future roles.
I have no visa restrictions
Nice try for comments, weekend jokers
Again, this is not a shit post.
Recipe for disastor why take e4 instead
Take it. Having worked at both places, I think meta is the better company to work at, and the chance to advance your career to a level that Google very well may never promote you to is a no brainer.
AFAIK, coding / technical skills with being able to deliver things >>> leading ambiguity. You should be good. Just make sure to understand what you are building before you start to code and you should be good. Congrats!
