After our director set unreasonable deadlines for a very important project that would save Amazon multi-million $s of tax money every year, my 2 teammates and I worked late nights and weekends for 2 full months (consistent 70+ hour weeks) and successfully launched the project on time and presented it to our director. Guess what we got in return? A $5 Starbucks gift card. FUCK YOU, Amazon! This place is the worst! TC: Bananas + $5 gc
Starbucks sells bananas. Go get em champ
🍌
So quit and use that project as an example of your work in interviews
Definitely motivated me to quit. Absolutely no empathy or concern for employees

Join Cisco , every time I complete a project (doesn’t have to be on time) I always get connected recognition ~1000 ,that too after tax so actual amount is even higher :).
Cool, I thought that is what normal pay is for 😂
Who works for the normal pay,😉
Best employer on earth
who?
“Strive to be”, I’d ack that gc as an effort to that principle.
Did you really think landing that awesome project and increasing revenue for the company would let you have a piece of it? We aren’t paid in proportion to how much revenue we generate, if you wanted that you should have started your own company
The manager pockets that reward and promo. GC would have made them arrogant.
Yes but if you explicitly expect someone to continuously put in 70+ hour weeks because YOU fucked up in your planning, the least you could do is acknowledge and reward them
Because you just like your job and were happy to deliver that super cool project on time :) it reminds me of no sudden move scene where a cop got a $80 bottle of whisky as thank you from a wealth dude/ executive for brining his money back. Ha-hahaha :) 🤣irony :(
I have received spot bonus of a few grand launching much smaller projects at Google.
Next time you order that same day delivery, pass on the gc to your fellow employee knocking on the door, hopefully it will make him happy.🙂
Why not an Amazon gift card? #frugality
Must have somehow obtained the Starbucks gc for free
Most likely the amazon gift card would not be a business deduction. Amazon saved about a dollar in taxes on your gift card.
