Is this true? I'm considering to move from Austin to Boston and wondering if this a thorough / logical way to think about salary. (From Nerdwallet)
You will need to pay 1.5x more to rent or purchase a similar property. What is not clear ?
Is 1.5x an accurate multiplier? Simple question. Obv I get the math π
There are other places near Boston, such as Quincy and Malden, that are well connected to the MBTA red and orange lines and offer more affordable housing options. Not everyone resides in Boston unless they have a substantial budget.
1.5 sounds about right
@DtqI18 Nerd Wallet is a decent tool because you can look at each of the elements that break down that cost. That way you can pay attention to the significant cost drivers like housing and utilities and check those to what you are seeing in the market. Good luck!
Have you seen Boston real estate prices itβs as bad as CA Austin is quite reasonable by comparison
Yes, I've seen that....I'm trying to quantify the COL difference to see what it means salary-wise
TBH real estate prices doesn't really equate to COL. COL more includes food, utilities, gas, etc.
