Asking for a friend: Which would be a more preferable option? MS CS, Tier 2 University, 2 years work ex in India Facebook E3 (New Grad, Menlo Park): 123k Base, 160k RSU (4years), 70k joining bonus, TC 1st year: 252,800 Amazon SDE 2 (Seattle): 155k Base, bonus $92,800 (Year 1), bonus $66,300 (Year 2) , RSU: 58 units, TC 1st year: $254,840 VMWare MTS 3 (Palo Alto): 145k Base, 150K RSU (4 years), 45k joining bonus, TC 1st year: 253,240 Oracle IC-2 (Santa Clara): TC: 230K I don't have a location preference but what are the tradeoffs between Amazon SDE-2 and Facebook New Grad in regards to : a. career progression b. workload and performance expectations/competition c. perks d. work culture #compensation #softwareengineersalary #softwareengineer #facebook #amazon #oracle #vmware #h1b #softwareengineeringcompensation
just take the new grad job and grind
Do a poll. I’d take the FB offer
Ohk this is how I see it. There is a clear path from E3 to E4 at FB and one can achieve that in max 18 months or so and similarly to E5 as well. This promotions will be easier since expectations will be much less at E3 and with really good refreshers, you will learn and earn more at FB. At amazon you are already joining at the terminal level and L5 to L6 promotion is tough and it takes many years. Most likely you will hit the cliff at Amazon.
FB, lots of room to grow, on the other options you are joining at levels which will take lot of time to get promoted to
Hey, can I DM you? Wanted to ask a few things.
