Currently L5. Landed an E4 offer at FB. Initial offer: Base: 154k Stock: 260k Sign On: 0 I have some Google team match meetings this week. Still waiting on hiring committee. I also have an L61 offer from msft. Any advice on how to handle negotiation? YOE: 2 TC: 205k Location: Seattle Update: Accepted 160/300/50
Seattle?
Yes. I will add that to the post. Although I’ve heard that fb offers don’t vary by location
Lowball
Any suggestions for a counter?
270k total. Walk away if they don't agree. Some new grads are making this much.
FB is hard balling right now because lots of companies are laying off. Negotiations might be more difficult.
I see. With this offer I would rather stay where I am and wait for the potential offer from google, though I understand passing hc is a big hurdle.
Google might give you L3 with your yoe. Try asking for a sign on. Unfortunately, covid and demands are probably not giving much room to negotiate. Plenty of people are looking for jobs
Just tell recruiter what you are looking for. You do not need a competing offer to negotiate.
Might just send it and ask for 165/400/75
Lmk if you get it just curious. Just throwing my hat in I got 170/400/60 with 3.5 YOE with competing offer. As others have said, make sure to join before 5/15...
Ask for 160k base, 300-350k RSU. It's not a low-ball lol..you have 2 YOE. And E4 with 2 YOE is typically 230-250k
The max e4 you quoted is for people with a lot more experience and for those who could not meet E5. Your offer is fine for your exp
I got almost max offer with 2 yoe and practically no competing offers (but had something coming). Just be a good negotiator and understand recruiter is your friend and you need to make them fight for you
Isn’t that low for E4 at FB?
Yeah seems low to me. Seems like the max is 167/400/75. Trying to figure what I should come back with or if I should just wait to see if I get an offer from google. I also have a msft offer but it’s so low it’s barely worth mentioning. First time navigating multiple offers so I’m looking for advice on how to proceed.
Low? No. Medium? Sure. But OP also has two years of exp.
