Facebook Rejection

Recently, I had an interview at Facebook. I did perfect in all 3 coding rounds. My design round was just OK. Recruiter said he got 4 positive responses from the interviewers and kind of hinted about salary conversations as he was waiting to hear back from Hiring committee. The next day he said that I am rejected. I have asked him about feedback he said it’s against FB policy to give any feedback. I asked if I could apply at other roles in Facebook and he asked me to wait for an year. Is there any other way to get some more feedback? Do Facebook employees have access to it? Is there any chance that I could reapply sooner? 8 YOE

No point in going over the feedback. Same set of questions with different set of interviewers would have resulted in different feedback. Instead of trying to mold to someone’s expectations. Keep preparing and interview as you are and some company will like you.

But that's begging the question.

It may not have been a technical issue that sunk you, but a cultural one. By any chance did you exhibit a shred of ethics or morals at any point during the interview process?

Lol

I haven’t exhibited anything negative, I have been polite and very communicative.

How can you have done perfect, gotten all sorts of positive responses, then got rejected? Something must have happened. Are you a protected class?

Akamai Technologies dBwe58 OP Nov 30, 2018

Not sure what happened. Not a protected class.

Try google. Almost similar Tc and better WLB

Will do!

1) The recruiter should not tell you that there were 4 positive feedback. 2) I also see similar case when positive feedback is not positive enough.

I had my hopes up after the conversation with recruiter. Feels pathetic now.

Tell us what your interview questions were and we will pinpoint where the HC made their (flawed) decision from.

Interview process everywhere is a very subjective matter. It is never designed to be fair. Usually when all goes well and you dont get the offer it goes to the Jedi interviewer not seeing strong leadership signals in your interview.

What is jedi interviewer

Lol they must have found someone better ...I had something similar with apple but now I have higher TC in Microsoft from my previous company ...😊 the manager on the apple team really liked me and called me for another opportunity , I declined since I realized that it was not a mutual fit

We have rejected awesome candidates and let shitty managers be part of the company. At the end of day it’s that one interviewer that didnt like you.

At the end of the day you don’t necessarily have to “solve” questions, you just have to impress interviewers
