TC is too high: manager said to get promoted, I have to grow GenAI scope on my team
FBU Engineering is a freshman/soph SWE internship where you get mentored by a team but build your own mobile app idea with 3 other FBU interns that doesn't get shipped or anything. I'm both a third-year and a soph because of co-op. My internship at Twitter this summer was a proper SWE internship. I will probably be able to interview for FB SWE too, but I have to wait until January (FB has a delayed recruitment cycle for my school, Waterloo).
What is the comp for each?
FBU is 6.1k/mo for MP, Msft is 7.3k/mo for Seattle. Both come with housing.
Isnt FBU like auto admit program for minorities? So if you have written a line of code in your life you get a free job at FB?
The interview process consists of an OA and a non-technical interview with a SWE.
so basically
Do FB, Microsoft is easier to get into later if u ever wanna go there.
It's easy to get a return SWE at FB
I'm graduating with a 3 year degree though so after this role, my next role will ideally be new grad.
Ah, I am not sure if they'll be able to offer a new grad role directly from FBU
