Recruiter told me that employees can take Uber pool from Eastside to Seattle and will be covered by FB. Is this correct? Is there a limit on how many miles or $, each way you can get this benefit? There must be a catch else I would guess everyone would take Uber pool and won't drive to work.
it's taxable
You have to pay tax on the cost of the ride?
yes, the cost of the ride is added to your paycheck/w2
Awesome benefit
I agree. All companies should offer this.
@Uber lol
It's true. Free Uber Pool service for FB Seattle. It's a substitute for shuttles
But still plenty of shuttles that FB offers
Can you take an Uber pool to and from the shuttle stop as well?
No
I believe you can only take it only during certain reasonable times of day
That’s correct
No longer. We just changed this to any time of the day.
FB employees get a better uber perk than uber employees.
I think netflix has this too. At least ours is adhoc
Yes, we have it and uber pool is not required. You can even take UberXL
I think it is weekly Lyft promo code?
Only if shuttle late more than 20 min I think
This is a perk in Facebook Seattle. There are no time limits but the cost of one way will be covered to a max of $15. Anything more will have to come from your personal credit card. The only restrictions are that the start or end point needs to be FB office. This is an amazing benefit. Plus if you take into account parking in the area, the daily value you get is greater than just $15 one way.
The main catch is that it’s taxable. ie your taxable income goes up. So if you’re riding from the eastside, let’s estimate $15~18 a ride. If you take Uber pool daily, then that adds up fast.
I just checked and Uber pool rates from Redmond and Sammamish are anywhere from 35-40$ each way. 15$ seems not much if you are commuting from Eastside unless you are in Bellevue right next to the exits. The 15$ only works if you live in Seattle
1. Does not cover all the east side towns. Redmond is half covered. 2. It's Uber pool so you share the ride, it normally takes more time in peak hours to pick/drop other riders.

Who are these retards asking for dictatorship in India?
There doesn’t have to be a catch. They might be trying to reduce traffic and help employees
This might be a preliminary step to getting busses
