Facebook comp for IC4
Interviewing with Facebook. They said I'll likely come in as Data Engineer IC4. I have 5 YOE. I currently work at a contracting/consulting company in the Midwest making 130k + 10k yearly bonus. I'm happy with my job right now, but interviewing anyway. FB asked if I'd be willing to move to the Bay Area. What kind of comp should I ask from Facebook? I've checked out levels..fyi but they don't have comp for DEs..also, I want practical advice for moving from the Midwest with my salary. thanks!
DE TC is the same as DS TC, so you can use that as a reference on levels. TC for IC4 can be anywhere from 180k~230k, although I think the offers are higher now.
I’m joining FB next week. The DE IC4 base is from 150-165k. 165k being the max cap at this level. The RSU can be anywhere from 150-240K vested over 4 years. Depends on your negg skills and competing offers. The signing bonus is 0-25k. So the overall package can go from 180-240k for IC4

check cost of living comparison online between your location and Bay area. You'll get some sense. Seems like at least 300k.
