I'm unable to find what typical iOS System Design Interview questions look like. Tried with common stuff like "Design a chat application (Whatsapp)", "Photo Sharing app (Insta)", "Ride hailing app (Uber)". But, these apps are so complicated that it's not possible to meaningfully scratch the surface within 45 mins (When you design for scale). Right-now, my strategy is to speak and type very fast, skip parts of the design and jump from topic to topic every 10 minutes. If any iOS engineer in FB can give a sample question or two or give a couple of tips, it'll be helpful. #facebook #ios #interview #systemdesign
How did you know you’re getting design an app question?
The recruiter gave me those examples. Also, that's the kind of questions I find for back-end system design interviews. Google search didn't give me any useful info.
@OP Did you finally interview at facebook? Mind if I DM for knowing your experience
How did it go? Do you mind sharing your experience?
Not going to give you questions but the focus is on the app side not the backend.
Yup, the recruiter told me that. Just wanted to know if the question will be to design an entire app or a small feature in an app? 45 minutes seems too little.
They will ask to design a specific feature in an app then deep dive from into things like cache, threading, views. What design pattern you're choosing and why? Why you will use something over something(framework)?
