hey everyone! i just finished my facebook iOS onsite yesterday. cant really tell how it went first technical: 2 LC style questions, solved one very quickly and another missed a minor detail that interviewer pointed out but said “that was close enough” second technical: 2 more LC style questions. solved one very quickly and the other fails on a few edge cases. didnt have time to finish completely but told him how i would fix it behavorial went well! finished the coding question LC easy as well with optimal solution. system design was a bit trickier. i got through the main design pretty quickly and well i think but when we dug deeper into the details such as the cache layer which i had no experience in i struggled. FB asks design questions for E3/4 candidates now?
Isn’t that normal?
Not sure which is why I’m asking. I always thought design questions were reserved for senior level devs and up
What questions did they ask you?
How did they conduct the "onsite" interview? Given the shelter-at-home, I suppose it was pretty much a full day remote/ VC interview with breaks in between? Did they use coderpad? Were you expected to write code that ran on the IDE?
Very likely rejected because 1. you didnt do so well on system design 2. 2nd technical you didnt seem to finish everything Facebook interview you have to be almost perfect in every interview
Op heard back about the result? I have iOS interview coming up. Do they ask any ios related questions? What kind of questions you were asked in your phone interview?
Mind sharing system design question?
If anyone is interested in an Uber iOS or Android opportunity, DM me.
Very likely rejected
How come :(
Because there are candidates that do better than you and FB will pick the ones that did the best.
