Just got notified that I failed the Facebook candidate review. The HR told me that the final interviewer considered I kinda lack of the "influencing skills" a bit, said that the case I shared during final interview didn't make him feel enough of the skills. Could anyone share what type of case you share during your interview for demo of "influencing skills" How did you share it in a structured way? Thanks guys #facebook #interview #influencingskills
It sounds like facebook bullshi* to me. They ding people for the stupidest and most arbitrary reasons.
This Sounds like your interviewer felt insecure
And then they ask you to interview again every 6 months for the next four years
It does sound weird so might be just BS... But if we assume that’s a real feedback I would guess they mean you weren’t good at proving your point? Maybe you seemed unconfident, changed your mind easily if they questioned something about your answer (even though it was correct)... Could that be something that happened? If so you would need to just be a bit more structured in your answer and insistent on your idea.. If they question something, you would try to logically address it point by point and explain how to deal with the issues they brought up.... ? Maybe? Don’t know, maybe it’s nothing and people are right, maybe it’s just BS. I’m just trying to guess what it could be :)
Which position? And level?
Account manager for tech account, ic4-5
Sounds like the interviewer was just biased or maybe judged wrong, but I would guess they wanted to get an example of your ability to set the direction of the team and/or achieve the right outcome without you doing it (but achieving it through others), with touches on the complexity of the situation, tough negotiations and arguments you used, etc. There is no such thing as a skill defined for that, but we expect people to drive results via influence (one of your tools). This is, obviously, not FB specific
Thanks man, appreciate it
Who cares! You are better off without Facebook.
Well I consider you're comforting lol but stills like to know to improve, cause I'll have to do this kind of questions in other companies' interview
Always puzzling how salty people can be, and yet can’t write correctly
