Is this a fair offer from FB? Title: Content Strategist Exp: 7+yrs Base: 110k Bonus: 10% Stock: 50k Asking 4a friend.
And your title is ..Troll^2??
Looks low for 7 years marketing exp. But at FB it's separate from marketing roles. How does this role differ from marketing?
Yes, it separate from marketing. The role is part Product/UX team, responsibilities will be on product content.
Looks meh - she/he’s coming in as IC4. If their 7 years of experience was from no name companies, then IC4 feels fair. But if from big actually exciting companies, then feels low. $110k base for IC4 feels low too.
Last 3+ years at a top 20 global Fortune 500 company. The 4 years before that were at known companies, but not top ranking. Do you have any insight into what that salary range should be? And what constitutes a IC4 level? Paysa, Linked and Glassdoor seem to have vastly different ranges and data.
This is definitely an IC4 offer and not a bad one at all. Not the very top of the band - top would be more like $130K - however people I’ve heard who make that have more like 10 years experience, so for your experience level this is a solid offer. Most people come in at IC4 leaving room for growth. I’ve heard of few CSs that come in IC5 or above (managers are on a different track). There’s not much wiggle room to negotiate equity for this role. Hope this worked out for you!
Would you be able to speak for the IC3/new grad offer band?
