Having a hard time making a decision. I received an E4 offer from FB and a P4 (senior) offer from Zillow. Both offers are similar in terms of compensation (~330k). Facebook seems like a stressful work environment but potentially more rewarding. I’m in the early stages of my career (5 yoe), and have no kids. I don’t know as much about Zillow.
My wife works for Zillow, they are a very open and inclusive environment. Focused on equality and social influence. If you are a Conservative, Heterosexual Caucasian your upwards mobility is very limited and opinions are muted. Seen this happen on all levels of the company.
Since you have 5 YOE, at this point you might have a sense of what work you like and what personalities you most gel with. So between FB and Zillow with similar TC, if I were you I would choose the one with the manager, team, and work domain I like more. Both companies have been public for years and so the stock component of TC can depend a lot on overall stock market. In terms of learning opportunities at FB it depends on your role bc there’s lots of custom frameworks and systems that you don’t find elsewhere. At FB you will learn how to deal with high stress and fast pace and (as you get to higher levels) politics and leadership by influence. FB is also still wfh til at least July so the “office perks” won’t be back in full scale for a while.
Is it zillow Seattle or bay area or fully remote?
