I interviewed for Facebook today. It’s a phone interview round where I was asked two medium leetcode questions. I answered them but for one question, interviewer brought up a different use case, the code works fine and he said it looks good. But could not complete for the new use case as it was almost 20 mins and hence moved to the second question. Second question I solved and we discussed about optimizing it. Will they move forward ? #faang #tech #Facebook #jobs
I'm a technical recruiting manager at Facebook, they may not move forward but it depends on the level they are targeting you for. Typically they expect people to solve both problems really well.
Got it. I’m not keeping my hopes high, but I did solve both. The use case was explained in last 5 mins of first 20 mins. So I’m curious 🧐
hjkiut4000, in that case if you solve both problems really well in the phone interview, will it be considered also for the HC packet ? let's say you did really great on phone screens, but only so-so in on-site, can the phone session "save" you ?
What were the questions? 🥲

Just did!
I think I had similar situation where the second LC medium question was bit tricky. FB scheduled another screening call where they asked just one question .
you didnt solve the second problem entirely on your first screen or solved only a portion of it?
I solved a portion of it.
I have a Facebook phone interview coming up soon. Would you mind sharing the questions to aid in my preparation?
Please dm. And be confident in the interview. You should be good :)
What was the outcome then?
Did not go through. I had solved both the problems except for that one use case.
Tough shit man! Phone screens are fucking hard to crack!
I don't see why anybody would say "Yes" here 😅😅
