Currently working at Amazon as SDE2 in Seattle with 6 yoe (2 in Amazon), tc is 200k, feeling underpaid. Got couple offers recently, only considering fb and dbx. Need some advices from you guys. Fb: e4, base 165k, rsu 280k, signon 100k, location mpk Dbx: ic2, base 170k, rsu 260k, signon 40k, location SF Considering col and tax, the packages are pretty same with current, but wondering what do you guys think?
This should be a poll.
I have half your experience, don’t live in a competitive market (not Bay Area, or Seattle, or Austin) and make more. My advice? Fucking negotiate. Ask for more when interviewing. Tell them you want 300k up front. Before they extend an offer. Maybe you’ll land around 280k. But if they come at say 250, you can say “listen my expectation was 300, this is too low”. Not exactly in those words, but more elegantly.
TC and location?
220 and loc is pretty easy to figure out, process of elimination. Intuit has two big cities for SWE and one isn’t Mountain View.

Thanks, I’m trying to negotiate, but looks like the recruiter not willing to do so
Fwiw, internal transfer bw locations is straightforward - you might be able to move back after about a year. Doesn't make sense the recruiter is stonewalling this request frankly. Costs the company so much to pay for relocation..
The dollar figure amounts are good, but seems like they’re down leveling you. Would have thought 6 years experience would be an E5 at FB.
I second that. Use Dropbox offer to negotiate level in FB and join there.
No really. Sde2 at Amazon is E4 typically at FB. Sde3 maps to E5 here.
Facebook level 4/5 are played around with. They have faster agility, so and SDE2 could easily be mapped to either.
FB
I thought Fb offered 100k sign-on only to returning interns
I think returning intern sign on has now increased upto $150k
