I just got laid off from a Small Startup, its been one week looking for job but no luck so far. Either I am getting calls from consultancy with really low rate or no call at all. I applied almost 50 plus jobs so far. Just wanted to gather some data points on recetly laid off folks, did you had to wait long time. Did you had to give up lot of previous TC. I have about 11 years of Full Stack Software Engineering experience mostly in NodeJS and React. My TC was 225k so looking around same range. Let me know if anyone has referral as well. TechStack: NodeJS, React (Prefer Backend Node) YOE: 11 yrs Full Stack very much interest in ML/AI python but have not done anything there yet. Thank god, I have no VISA issue, have enough saving for 6 months. Looking for Remote Only. Atlanta Based. Prefer 40-45 hrs week WLB. Edit 1: My Networth is about 1 Million mostly in Crypto plus stocks, 401k and home equity. I have 6 months of emergency fund after that will need to liquidate things which I dont want to. #engineering #software #swe #google #facebook #amazon #microsoft #layoff #lookingforjob #startup
We are hiring send me a DM
Is Aurora Remote and pay 225k plus. If so I will DM, I am short in DM so trying to make sure it matches my criteria. Thanks
Yeah that’s doable
You can have a look at expedia career page they are hiring Engineers for Full - stack dev. Mostly profiles are centric towards ReactJs. It could be a great fit for you Good luck!
Do you have nunbers range for expedia and is it fully remote. I dont wanna join if its RTO.
There are few teams in my knowledge which are remote and about the number range they really pay well
I don’t think you need to worry too much given you’re at least senior. Market is brutal but companies are still hiring for senior+ If you want my data point, 1 month in got my first offer. 2 months in now got 5 offers in total. (Failed 2 on-site, 1 phone screen). Before interviewing I took 1 month full time to prepare (LC & SD) It’s just a number’s game. Head up and you can do it OP
Thank you so much, I appretiate it and I was looking for exactly this kind of answer. Did you had bump in TC or had to compromise, also assuming its fully remote.
having multiple offers made negotiation easy. So i actually had increase in TC. But note earlier offers when I didn’t have leverage recruiters tried hard to lowball. Having the second offer completely changed all the following dynamics, including for interviews because I’m much more relaxed and performed much better
Interos is hiring—could be a match.
Thanks
Relatively quick...as long as you are willing o take a large pay cut (3 weeks to verbal offers)
How much was TC decrease. What was your old and new TC
New TC = ~75% of old TC
11 yrs. tc 225k and you have 6m saved? Way-to-go-genie!
Lol I have way more Net Worth in Stocks 401k, Crypto, Home Equity probably about 1 Million all together. 6Month is emergency fund after that I will need to liquidate things I dont want to .
Lol. Ufff way better. I would personally raise that emergency up to 2yrs. But this is me…
