If you have a PhD does the type of Green card change and/or processing time? Joining Facebook soon as Research Scientist and wondering how much time would it take to process the Green card and what type is best? - ROW - 5 papers / around 50 citations I don't have enough for EB01 I guess but I believe there are options like EB02 right? Will Facebook take care of that?
Hey OP, sorry I cannot answer your question due to no experience in that topic. But can I DM you about the Research Scientist role and your PhD experience?
Sure
If you have a masters degree or above, you qualify for EB2 for sure. I think with your profile it might be possible to file under EB1. Did you google the criteria for EB1?
This is a misconception, it is not based on your qualifications but what are the minimum qualifications for your role. In other words, you could have a PhD and be working in a role where the minimum requirement was BS with no experience, in that scenario you’ll be in the EB3 category for filing your GC.
You qualify for EB2 if the role you are hired for has a minimum requirement of a Masters degree or Bachelors degree with 5 years of experience.

For ROW why do you worry about EB2 vs EB1 ? They are always current right and GC timeline will be same 🤞
I don't really care but it is confusing. To my understanding for EB2 you don't really need the company to file for you right? EB1 has higher citation reqs I think. I guess I need an immigration lawyer to explain it to me..
