I was checking out Tinder's Crunchbase before sending them my resume for an android developer position in Belgium. Since they're part of Match Group and are a public company, I wanted to see how they're doing and get a feel for the company. I came across this article that bothered me. Perhaps I wonder how good is their engineering? Here's the link to the article: https://www.techtimes.com/articles/281078/20220926/tinder-s-date-with-this-tech-genius-was-definitely-worth-the-500-day-wait.htm I decided to look into Tech Times and found they promote content to boost people's profiles. https://avazonapr.com/products/featured-on-tech-times I even looked up the author, David Thompson and found this video: https://youtu.be/JqfSwNxzfLA. It got me thinking. What if a public company hires average engineers and allows them make content for the company? That's a concern. The person in the article seems full of themselves. They could end up being my coworker. I wonder what their colleagues think. The article just seems like bragging, as if Tinder really wanted this engineer. I'm curious about their actual contributions to the company. Could it be a hack for green card? #tech #tinder
Working for Tinder seems really unsafe, they’re definitely gonna do way more layoffs. Most men have completely given up on dating women, I have no idea how they can continue to make money, there stock has been consistently dropping for a year now. Grindr on the other hand seems like a safe company, a lot of men probably are trying out being gay because of how high women’s standards are now. Their stock is consequently up 10% in the past year, which is very good
OP, no need to stress over this article. The guy is basically gaming the system to snag a green card through the EB1A route. He's oblivious to the fact that O-1 visa process can be manipulated, and he's acting like he genuinely qualified for the genius visa for writing CRUD apps. The recruiter might have seen him as a prime candidate, but honestly, he's just worked the angles. Check out this post! "The conference speaker circuit.... (Tech Industry)" https://www.teamblind.com/us/s/vH1PoOTr Let's face it, his track record at Tinder is far from impressive, and his self-proclaimed status as a tech prodigy is nothing short of comical. That article reeks of the classic, cringeworthy LinkedIn style 🤮. This doesn't imply that the engineering at Tinder is below par. There's a wealth of learning opportunities, even though, as you rightly pointed out, there are a few bad apples in the mix. Despite that, it wouldn't hurt to consider connecting with the Belgium team – they're tackling some genuinely interesting projects. It's true, the stock prices might be down, but that's actually a golden opportunity to get in on the action.
Mofo finally quit! His LinkedIn is full of lies. He didn’t ship anything 100% Good riddance! People in his team were actually looking forward to his exit. What a noise to get rid of
Oh, what a hero move! Went ahead and ratted out this absolute genius to USCIS, all thanks to the intel you handed over. Round of applause for helping that oh-so-deserving person snag a green card. 👏🌟
Here’s one more 👉🏼 https://www.outlookindia.com/outlook-spotlight/ishan-khanna-s-passion-powered-world-tour-known-as-the-droidchef-ishan-s-expertise-in-android-engineering-has-unlocked-the-opportunity-for-global-travel-news-208863/amp Here’s how you can promote on this portal 👉🏼https://www.peopleperhour.com/hourlie/publish-on-outlook-india-outlookindia-com-da-86/235533 But wait, if you peek at his LinkedIn, he’s got some beef with people gaming the EB1A category! What a twist, the DroidChef turned into a visa category vigilante while he is also part of the problem! 🦸♂️😄
Warning: the ad from the first link is gross.
OP is an A hole. F ing idiot
I don't see anything gross about it
