Have your experience people with fake resume in your workspace? Mainly consultants from Indian vendors. Specially devops and software engineering sectors.#hrissues #wellsfargo #bankofamerica #bluecrossblueshield #amazon #deutschebank #americanairlines #americanexpress #devops #businessanalyst #qualityassurance
Happens all the time in the industry, unfortunately. My team doesn’t have any contractors.
I witnessed this happen. My client flipped out and reported it to USCIS but I don’t know what happened afterward.
Good! They should report it.
Anyone faking in their resume would be caught by a good interviewer.
Interviews for contractors are usually much easier, and the background check too. There might not even have background check for big companies for contractors.
No, didn’t think of that reference.
I witnessed multiple people over the last 10 years who faked their experience. I’ve had both good and bad experiences with them. End of the day, I need them to deliver - some of them can’t. So had to fire them. Some of them could - so let them continue.
Why let anybody continue if they are lying?
Only care if they can deliver. If they are a new grad and delivers like a senior, why kick them out?
Cuz they lied! Deceived and can do worse for the company in long term?
A friend of mine asked me once to take a phone interview for a software developer role on his behalf. He lied in his resume. He was working part time in a convenient store and struggling to find a decent job having a family of three to support. Politely declined and somehow talked him out of it. Now he is working as a business analyst for a good company. A job he managed to find truthfully. Lying in your resume is a bad thing. Not only because it is immoral but also because it can come back years later and bite you.
This, thank you for making it work indirectly
This is the reason why you shouldn't refer people you don't know for the referral bonus. Their failure will reflect back on you.
Exactly... I have always been amazed people on Blind are willing to so freely recommend someone they have never worked with, let alone even know.
If someone asks for a referral and you are willing to give, then check the LinkedIn of those people. People having fake experiences don't keep a Linkedin profile. Their fake experience is not shown on social media. I wonder how they show 5 years' experience for a 24year old. :D :D
I worked at a small consultancy back in 2014. Employees, all from india, were stuffed into a small apartment and brought to and back from the office in some shared ride arrangement. They arrive and memorize interview Q&A all day and attempt as many interviews as possible. There was a shared portfolio on each and everyone’s resume. Non Of them ever touched those projects. If they continuously fail interviews, the senior software engineer is called in to take their next one!! They would discuss how the client will never be able to differentiate because of the similar accent. Long story short, I stayed, watched and recorded everything. Reported them and quite. They closed down a couple of months afterwards!
We have teammates background check them via word of mouth. We bust a few of them not all of them Indian consultant firm.
U have ur hires checked? Is that even ur job to do? Isnt the background agency for that?
Background agency only knows criminal record but not if he or she is an asshole or bad performer. In out industry people know each other.

What do you think is wrong with a kid who got rejected by 9 colleges?
No, but it's a common practice that small indian consulting companies fake resume. I have a friend who is a new grad and given a 5 yoe resume. He was also trained on how to lie and bs his experience.
I hear the same stuffs. They are trained for few months and then faked , they even train students how to give interviews.
Yea, but if your interview for senior can be pass by a new grad or people with fake resume, then you have issues too.
