Hi folks I am setting up fb onsite for E6 Recruiter told me i can choose single node vs distributed systems for system design and it would not matter to them what I choose . I am not sure why not, since single node interviews have to be easier than distributed systems. Can someone from facebook please confirm if the recruiter is correct?
I think you are a bit confused. You can choose to design more product-y systems (e.g. instagram) or infra-y systems (e.g. Memcache). We aren't hiring an army is E6s who only know how to make a infra which doesn't scale, we already have that /s Source I interview E6s for FB.
What’s the yoe req for e6? Should I actively tell recruiters to calibrate me as e6? I have 11yoe
It is less years than what's you have done, know, and can do. There's a large supply of people with 2 year of experience repeated 5x.
Do they mean if you can have 2 systems design or 1 product design and 1 systems design? I chose 2 systems design since I was more confident in that
No its 2x coding,1x behavioral/leadership and 1x system design where i can pick single or distributed systems. I did have a tech and a manager screening before on-site. Did you have a manager screening too? ( i am applying to a specific role and not a general role)
Yes I had manager screening too. I thought for l6 they always have 2 design rounds. Please confirm the loop level with the recruiter to be sure
