Why do Indians support Israel so much( on blind surprisingly) when Israel really thinks 💩of them ?
I’ve hated them for this reason since the day I graduated. Everyone I knew working there were exactly what John describes. Hope they cease to exist and the govt goes after them for all the unethical or plausible illegal stuff they’ve done. And this is coming from someone at Meta. I reallllly hate this company. https://youtu.be/AiOUojVd6xQ?si=GPtGNw2gHpTzEngL

The usual hatred for the overpriced decks
Causing layoffs and increasing executive pay, working simultaneously with Purdue on Oxycontin and the FDA, and working with Saudi Arabia even after the journalist getting ended by an MBS order.
I didn’t watch the video, but usually whatever the opposite of what John Oliver says is correct
False. John’s segments are usually well researched
Ehh from what I’ve seen he presents data in a misleading way, and usually is quick to generalize an entire group. I’m sure it’s not him specifically, but his writers have an obvious group they are pandering too. I will admit I’m biased, because I feel like his tone is constantly condescending.
Consultancies are a bigger scam than NFTs
I’m not going to watch the video because John Oliver’s become insufferable to me, but the basic point of management consulting is to de-risk executive decisions so they can internally point to the consultants for blame if something goes poorly and take credit if it succeeds. And then the agencies hide behind NDAs so you can’t tell how frequently shit goes poorly. (Hint: a lot.) It’s dumb, but it’s certainly not worth getting mad about.
So you’re not going to watch the segment and the cases he talks about but you’re going to lazily drop an explanation about what they do. Cool.
I do like the deep dives of John Oliver but I agree he’s a lot. I get his thing is taking complex issues and making them relatable but he’s a bit too hyper now. It would be nice if the news did that. In between breaking stories take some nice deep dives instead of another documentary about the Kennedys. Or the British royal family
My experience working with people from McKinsey is that they expect you to bow down when they mention they work or have worked at McKinsey. And they get frustrated when people don’t. They are professional BSers with no real talent or capability of doing anything except to convince you that they can. I would never, ever want to work there no matter how much they paid me. I would be ashamed to tell my kids I worked in such an environment.

True 👍
I watched and honestly thought it was really funny. Not defending McKinseys involvement in these awful things but you also can generalize an entire global company and thousands of employees based off some very biased research done for entertainment purposes. Still interesting though.
To be fair, the income inequality point affects all of us, employees. Even the ones that work for McKinsey.
Government going after them? They probably are full of intelligence assets already.
Not gonna watch because John Oliver is like Jim Cramer. Do/believe the opposite they say and you’ll be good. Another talking head.
Kinda tired of his leftist bias presented as fact and “lol if you don’t agree with the liberal agenda you’re a bad person” rhetoric presented as humor
So opioid crisis is a leftist issue? Getting defrauded is leftist agenda? Yes all shows have biases but they’re not always completely wrong because of left or right bias
Why so much hatred mama. Will explain why we’re not who he portrays us to be in a ppt by eod friday. Cheers
