I am so tired of the bullshit we have going on in this company. All these privacy processes slowing things down which wouldn’t have prevented any of the initial data breaches in the first place. Our next gen headset is going to get killed by psvr2 and apple. There is no clarity about the roadmap among the actual workers. Zucc is harping about his vision on Podcasts when he won’t even share any of these details with his own employees properly. Imagine learning more about the research your company is doing from a 1 hour PR piece on YouTube than internal docs. I joined oculus because I was passionate about vr but this company is so fucking opaque for no goddamn reason I’m done with this place gonna reach out to recruiters and go somewhere else.

Funny how they’ve been asking product manager candidates to design a social podcast product since last year. I wonder where zuck got his vision from? 🤔
Probably a shitty clubhouse knockoff except the original died sooner than we could ride its coat tails.
I got sucked into that Clubhouse bullshit in 2020/21, it was finally killed. Sounds like it's back? Dear god.
Same. Waiting for freeze at Google to be lifted then I’m outta here.
Yep same.
If you're fed up with slowness, bureaucracy and lack of transparency at Facebook, you'll be in for a nasty surprise at Google.
Possibly an opening in your team? Be ready to get spammed with lot of referral requests for your position 😀
Hiring freeze go brrrr
So the next quest is not going to be great? That's sad, I enjoy my quest 2
The public details for psvr2 currently have better specs (just that it’s not standalone vr)
"Just that it's not standalone VR" is a massive fly in the ointment Standalone is absolutely a huge selling point for trying to push VR to be ubiquitous. If it's not standalone, it's not a pure head-to-head competitor. Meta is going to own the VR market until someone can make a good standalone that matches or beats on price
I can guarantee apple have same situation, it is common to big companies
Not really. What I found was that most people who left for Meta were doing it for 2 reasons: burn out or more money. There was no passion for the product or the vision. When money is the only motivator, it is easy it got disillusioned with stock falls and company direction changes. At Apple, more people drink the Kool aid and are here because they love the products.
TC?
Posted more than enough times. Not relevant for this post.
I dont think you know how this app works
I would like to make a trade🙂
Meta Quest lost me at $100 price increase. I also managed to convince my wife to approve the purchase, but that killed the deal
Login using fb id was the first nail in the coffin (yes I know it was reversed it too late). Then increasing the cost by 30% was the second nail. What next? Subscription service to use your headset? Way to kill off your $2B investment, Zuck.
Lol you need your wife’s approval for purchases Down bad
Do you know anything about Apple?
I know that people don’t think of apple as the next coming of Stalin.
If you're complaining about opacity at Meta, Apple will blow them out of the park in that topic.
Ok
*rammus noises*
Ok.
