I joined Samsung (Samsung Ads) as a Senior Software Engineer- remote 3 months back. My team works in Mount View CA. Recently I saw that the profit for Samsung fell 22 percent in last quarter. Now I fear about my job security because I think because of this steep dip in profits, there might be layoffs. The reason I joined Samsung from my previous company because I wanted some job stability and security in life and when I told the same to my recruiter during the hiring process, he mentioned that companies like Samsung are stable and recession proof and I was sold to it. Is this true? Everyday I fear about will I be able to keep up my job in this recession . Few questions in my mind 1. Is the thing Samsung to be recession proof true? 2 . Or looking at the relatively large dip in profits, should I expect layoffs next year? Or am I over thinking 2. Since I am the newest guy in the team and only guy remote, am I most vulnerable guy to be laid off? Please share your thoughts TC 200K YOE 4
I just got this job after so much struggle and to think of going through the job search process again is stressful and it also affects my green card application processing as well
Nothing is recession proof

Cleared Amazon onsite, but lowballed.
Being the only guy remote can definitely give you unnecessary mental stress
