So many bad managers just survive by just continuously moving from one team to another and than moving from company to company. We should create a Yelp like review system for Managers so that they can be avoided. Either as a Blind feature or some other app. We can remove line Manager as they have limited power, but people above can be lot more abusive.
How would you stop fake reviews?
Same company, only one per id.
Good managers who hold coasters accountable and actually make people work will get roasted by the coasters and their lazy reports. Like any other profession, the best thing to consider is an employees results. With a manager it is their teams results you should evaluate.
Results are the worst metric. Amazon managers burn their entire team every year, get promoted, and change teams. And Managers don’t produce results, it’s engineers who do that
You say that like Amazons corporate strategy is to take care of their people rather than burn them out and squeeze as much productivity as possible from them before then. Amazon managers are doing what Amazon prioritizes and wants. It is shitty, but that is what you get when you work at a place like Amazon.
No, a lot of managers lie.. they misrepresent their employees
Absolutely BS Salesforce
Yelp for managers would probably look like a cesspool of grievances.
Lol. How about we make yelp for engineers?
We definitely need that one too for some of the LinkedIn influencers
Become the kind of employee who could leave and have 5 offers the next week. Then you'll never work for a shitty boss again.
Why is EM is permanent role. It should be more like on call rotation, where every senior member on the team gets 6 month rotation. In an engineering org, there is no need for a permanent EM role. Rotational role filled by senior folks is sufficient.
that would be cool
Like RateMyTeachers and RateMyProfessors!
Students are customers at the university. Employees are not. That's the key distinction. Even rate my prof should not exist. Total violation of privacy and ready for abuse.
