My first day I have been asked what I wanted the most to succeed, I answered "a mentor in the company!"... still waiting for a program to be implemented.. I learn a lot by myself and I am sure I could benefit a lot from a mentor but nothing is made by the DMs! You feel the same?
There is no program. Talk to people and find mentors yourself. No need for official programs to learn from others.
Sure you could have everyone struggle and put in the repeated individual effort but why not make a dedicated program to help your employees out? 🙄🙄🙄
I’ve been in such programs, trust me, they are not as great as what you kids crack them up to be. Ask people for their time. If you are serious about learning and ready to put in the work, you will be surprised how many people are willing to help you.
Couldn't have said it better myself, quality internships are earned through personal initiative. Not given from human resources.
Not an expert but in my opinion, a great mentor is not something that you formally ask for. As with every other relationship, this one is also a two way street. Show willingness to learn, capability and respect, and you'll get all the help that you need and then some more. Until your company does something about it, reach out to people on your own.
