We have been in the market since 7-8 months. Bid on a good number, got outbid , sometimes the diff wasn’t much. It’s tiring to keep seeing redfin each day and reading disclosures. Should we go with a house we don’t like but just does the job? ( has 3b/2b and in decent area) and not a complete fixer upper. TC : 310K Household TC : 600K
Decent area means Palo Alto , Atherton Burlingame only right?
Not, Household TC includes paper money. And risk appetite not too high. Can you find houses under 2m near West San jose ( and I am not looking for school ratings more than 8) or other areas SFH with good vibe. My question is not on bragging. I am humbled every day because the paper money and the layoffs. My question is to how to manage expectations or get over the fatigue of being a buyer.
Man, I can see good homes in San Jose. Can you live in 2000sqft?
Feeling like a failure cause I am not at Microsoft 😔
So true. Out of all these companies, my dad and his buddies only know Microsoft. Good as gold in terms of recognition
OP maybe you can help me with a referall 🥺?
Try writing a letter with a nice family photo to the seller
Unless you're a minority in which case send a stock photo of some euro americans
"Prajeet, this is clearly not your family"
Your total house income is 600k, after tax what is that 450k a year. Fam if you ain't saving enough to easily outbid most folks, I'm not sure what you doing with your money.
And outbid in last 6-7 months when market has declined... No more bidding wars!! This is just a troll post
OP makes mention of not wanting a fixer upper. Like who wants to pay to install their own marble kitchen island
What area?
Good god. Desi?
Nope. The other Asian
You need to get some help if you have a household income of 600k and feel like a failure for not being able to afford a house. Even worse, you seek validation on Blind.
Can we report and delete this thread? Lmao
I never said I can’t afford. Please read. I said I am unable to buy and the process is just draining. Also paper money is not real money
OP forgot to write “a better house than my friends”
^ this. Prestige chaser
Took me about a year. I think we put in 15 offers. Probably saw over 100 houses in person. It takes time.
Thanks. It’s tiring but glad that you got one :)
And here I feel bad dragging my agent out a second weekend.
Oh boy, talk about first world problems.
Why, is wanting to own a first home in a decent area first world problem in the United States?
I was referring to the post title and the TC going with it
