I recently switched teams and moved to US. Even since past three weeks, I have lost all interest in working and am unable to complete even the simplest sprint tasks. Now even if I want to work on them, I can’t focus at all. And more work keeps piling up. I’ve been lying about the status of a simple task since three weeks. I know I should talk to a therapist, but I’ve never taken therapy, are there any Amazon resources which can help me get started on it? #burnout #mentalhealth In the mean while, I would like to take a few days off from work so I can calm down and start sleeping well, start focusing again. Is it a bad idea to tell this to my manager and take few days off? He’s also new to the team, he’s American, so far seems like a good guy but don’t know how he’ll react.
Yep don't expect sympathy from the system. Bend the truth as far as possible without breaking it or you'll get stepped on most times. Look through the policies on TO and take the easiest path
What’s TO?
Time off
Moving to a new country is extremely stressful especially during such times of peak uncertainty. Please ask more time from your manager to settle down and sort things out a bit, and take low priority tasks.
Take a leave. You don’t even have to lie because your reason is your business
Better tell your manager that moving to US caused some fatigues physically and mentally ,hence you need a break for a week or two. Don't tell about the inabilities. Send a formal email too on the same.
Thanks, will DM you

Makes sense, I plan to take a break but I’m looking for the least destructive path that doesn’t affect my career
