Feeling like an utter failure during all these interviews. Im grateful to being able to land some interviews and have made final rounds but I cannot for the life of me land anything. It always comes back to them choosing another candidate. Ive had onsites at Walmart, Workday, MSFT, Apollo, Plaid, etc. and every time I always get the same feedback that they went with another candidate. I practice on my interviews through mocks but feeling absolutely defeated. YOE 10+ TC $250k
I can understand man… same boat here. 16 YOE landed some great interviews, prepped for weeks and interviews went really well. But the feedback is always we loved you but decided to go in a a different direction. Not really sure why nothing is converting. It’s a real grind…
You got this! You’re very close. Just do a couple more onsites to the best of your abilities and I’m sure you’ll land something soon. If you’re able to get this far you’re def doing something right
I have recently started submitting applications (been 3 weeks, ~15 applications), didn’t even got a recruiter call yet… market seems to be really terrible. 10yoe.
The tech industry is fucked. Tech Golden days are over. Field is too over saturated now.
Im feeling the same - final round interview & getting hopes up only to be rejected. It gets to you, I know we have to keep trying, but its tough
Good luck with your interviews buddy. I think it's all about keeping the pressure on the pedal, don't let the motivation down. I hope you get one soon.
Thanks guys needed this support. If you guys have any openings or referrals would love another shot
What kind of mock interviews did you do? Peer interviews usually don’t provide much value. Try paid ones with experience interviewers. Their feedback will help you identify where you need to improve. Check out meetapro, interviewingio, pramp, prepfully, etc.
I recently went through 3 months of interviews and converted 3/20. It basically comes down to - Any small mistake in technical or behaviour will put you on May be block. In other words, you need to be lucky in all the rounds - If they have multiple people clearing the interview, they roll out the offer to the one with highest Yoe/expected_salary value
Thats what happened to me. They said the other person had 2x my experience for the same role. What a joke
