Feeling burnt out from excessive work and unrealistic deadlines that no one understands. I mean, I'm up for targeting big but it's like nobody understands the work at all but just wants it to be done. Non-tech managers - tech team conundrum. Right now I'm a BA and I'm doing BA, DE, BIE work. I wouldn't mind if I were a DE and doing the same work but on peanut BA salary - no way. I'm ready to quit right now cos things are that bad. Our sprint meetings give me anxiety, my personal life is non-existent. I'm too depressed and exhausted after work to do anything. Thing is my manager is a great person. They support me a lot and are generally nice and understanding, but then they are just one person. Rest of the team especially the skip, I only get stressful vibes from them. How should I approach this situation? Ask for a role change? Ask for a better work life balance? I don't have any perspective bcos I'm a new grad. Please help with any suggestions.
First change roles to BIE/DE in the current team and then change teams. What’s your level and YOE??
L4 , YOE: 0
Present your case: give me promotion with more money because xyz or be ready to leave
Agree with this. Cost benefit analysis - if you don’t NEED need your job then you have all the leverage in this situation and you can make a statement of what you want/need in order to stay. If you’ve been there a year, you’ve got all the experience you need to get picked up quickly by another company. Right now it’s a job seekers market.
It's not like I don't outright need it. But Im ready to quit given the toll it has taken on my mental and physical (not exaggerating) health! I need a perspective. Sometimes I feel I'm not putting enough of a fight and sometimes I'm like I don't wanna get a heart attack at 40! Obviously when I put it this way my bias would be towards health. But yeah, hella confused
