How can my idiot brother who does real estate afford this
My mental health is really messed up (depression, anxiety, etc). I'm about to start a 1 month leave and I don't know why but I feel guilty for doing it. I mean I have legitimate issues but I guess I grew up in a culture where mental health isn't acknowledged and mental issues still seem less legitimate than physical issues. If I had a physical illness like cancer, I would feel zero guilt about taking leave. But with my mental health issues I feel like I'm somehow scamming my employer by taking a leave. Idk, has anyone else been through this before?
It’s called corporate slavery. Companies can’t deny mandatory leave so they try to make employers feel guilty so that they don’t ask.
I know exactly what you're feeling. I did the same a couple of months back, and I'm truly thankful for it. I had to challenge this guilt as a part of my recovery. Don't be afraid to be vulnerable. I wish you the best of luck!
Your employer is so successful in controlling your mind lol
You owe them nothing.
Op, I did group therapy. Lot of people in this situation. As someone mentioned, they were dealing with guilt of taking leave. The therapists know it takes 2-3 weeks to get over that and stop thinking so much about the projects you were working on. So you are not alone, give it a few weeks.
Mental issues are just in your head.
I can relate. I guess it’s reading about all the abuse of mental health leaves on blind. Somehow feel like half of them must be fake.. and I will be like them.
CA employment lawyer here, you should know that not only should you feel absolutely fine about taking leave on a personal and ethical level, but the law also has your back. Take care of yourself.
That’s not wrong. Mental issues are real issues too.
