Israel prevents Palestinians from gathering rainwater? Seems wrong on so many levels to me
I just got an internal offer letter. I haven’t signed it yet but told some teammates verbally. I’m now feeling sad to leave because I just love the job and have a good relationship with teammates. I also have a good standing within the team as the only L6, receiving lots of opportunities and recognition which I know will be difficult to obtain in the new team full of tenured L6s. I decided to explore options and start interviewing because I was scared of PIP, despite Exceeds in the latest annual review. My manager is toxic and has been trying to push me out. We don’t trust each other. I’m not sure what to do. Not happy to receive the offer and not happy to leave the team either. Separately, I’m in a few L+1 external loops, but the market is rough and cannot guarantee anything. Anyone has been in the similar situation? Any advice/thought is appreciated. Leave and never feel bad. You'll be more useful to them outside the group
Leave and don't look back. You can make an effort to spend off work time with your old team mates if they really care.
If you any doubts or what ifs….it’s time for your leap of faith. Don’t look back
That’s really comforting. Thank you!
Remember why you were looking for a new team at first place!
I was in a similar situation overall. Lost trust with my manager after knowing them for over a year and having a good relationship. Felt like they were finding any excuse to put me down after an exceeds review and not supportive of helping me grow overall. Despite having a good team that I did not want to leave otherwise, I decided to switch internally and it was a good decision. I'd recommend taking the new offer and letting this team go.
Thank you for sharing. I think I’m going down the similar path. Can I ask how was your skip at that time? Were they siding with the manager?
Yes. Had a good relationship with my skip as well. But they also sided with the manager at the time from my perspective as they reiterated and reinforced the things I was feeling from my manager.
Why is there a dissonance between you and your manager?
Not really sure but we disagree in many things. The biggest break came when he was upset about a rumor and determined that I was the one behind it. He pressured me to plead guilty and threatened to open an ethic investigation. I was cleared out of the accusation, but scared ever since.
This really sounds like something to get HR involved for
