Feeling tired, depressed, lost, anxious after today's layoffs.

Amazon feels like a depression machine right now. No motivation to work. Feeling sad, depressed, and lost. Feels like we can be thrown under the bus anytime. Not to mention immigration issues, rising costs and a family to take care of on a single income. No idea when this challenging times will pass...

AWS

Zuora Lucifer 💘 Apr 5

Don't worry, people soon would be getting SDE-2 emails from AMZN recruiters

Cognizant rick81wag Apr 3

I worked at intel for 15 years and they always had layoffs. It killed morale and I was so much happier after I left. Ask the best

Amazon hong Apr 3

I experienced the same when worked at Intel. But after joining amazon I became less happy.

Amazon hong Apr 3

I contacted by 2 recruiters from Amazon, saying that they try to rehire x-amazonians. Will be happy to connect you. I was sde2.

Oscar la2kapq Apr 3

Lol… like after a day?

Amazon hong Apr 3

No. I resigned 11 months ago. So they can rehire without interviewing

And to rub salt on the insult, Biden has proposed to grant amnesty to illegal migrants, give $6000 to help with rent, free Medicaid by Gavin in California, free free free. At the expense of the tax $$$ you paid but will not get social security benefits.

Expedia Group nidgyvij Apr 3

And we were blaming Trump who wanted to build a wall in Mexico.

Google wokawola Apr 5

Both are idiots

Amazon bisnoi Apr 3

Right now? Are you new?!

GitLab bfddfn Apr 3

Layoffs are a byproduct of hiring wrong. Either too many ppl or too much $. They should stop doing dumb shit

Amazon cl0udguy Apr 5

I think modern large companies are not doing it wrong, they have an actual strategy to bring people in hunger and turn them over for new people in a few years.

Amazon Yinz77 Apr 5

A lot the lay offs this time were due to smgs realignment creating role redundancies.

Amazon hy35gdu Apr 3

Amazon is a crash course for techies on how blue collar employees are treated. Culture is built on control of peasants

Amazon driftr Apr 3

My whole team, including me (and my dog), just got laid off from AWS today. If you have recruiter contacts, please DM me.

Amazon am:pm Apr 4

Layoffs will continue to happen for the next 5 years for all big tech even as reasons change from balancing overhiring to AI led productivity improvements. Eventually all big tech will aspire to get to the efficiency of X/Twitter. The faster you make peace with this reality, the more in control you would feel. Its not the strongest of a species that survive, but the ones most adaptive to change.

Twilio ledpolicy Apr 5

are you SS?

Walt Disney A.Bushnell Apr 4

It will be OK. It's not like you're an aid worker in Palestine

Leidos weaksauce> Apr 5

Oh, where Hamas is shooting rockets from and hiding behind humans like shields?

Bill.com iamio Apr 5

ah yes, always playing the victim with predictable excuses. “Hamas” hides in aid trucks in varying locations, driving down known paths, carrying food and water, incredibly dangerous materials.
