Ill start As an intern at a big company, I was the only female in a meeting and one of the men made a joke that the project was comparable to his naggy annoying wife, implying that all women are naggy. I dont remember exact words, but I remember it being extremely uncomfortable. What have you heard and what have you done in response? Edit: Lmao i didnt expect this to blow up, for the sake of simplicity i didnt include the whole story. Others joined in and said their wives are naggy and then someone said something along all wives are naggy -> which i got my assumption all women are naggy. I dont remember exact words.
Wow, I hope you're doing ok. That must've been traumatizing!!
Amazing, I can’t tell if this is sarcasm anymore 🙏
It's sarcasm
Sounds like he was saying one person was naggy
Honest question, how does that imply that all women are naggy? I mean I could kind of see the correlation to all wives being naggy but even then, he was referencing his own wife based on your quote.
If it weren't a common thing to rag on women in the workplace, it would seem extremely odd. When is the last time you heard someone complaining about their nagging husband during a meeting?
Because husbands usually don’t nag? Now lazy husband can be used.
How does that imply all women nag?
Plz... That is an inappropriate thing to say but not sexist. If he made a comment “sally didn’t finish her sprint tasks because she can’t code cause she is a girl” That is sexist. Bad joke about his wife is just inappropriate. Ppl make jokes like that I ask them to please be more professional this is an office environment.
At a previous company, a director walked into a meeting room by mistake that was almost entirely women, said “whoops, this definitely isn’t an engineering meeting”, and walked out.
Lmao he’s right though
Maybe he figured it out from something else? Was it an engineering meeting?
Asking “Did you take notes?” at the end of a meeting… while only looking at one of 2 women in the meeting. Nobody responded for nearly 30 seconds, then she stepped in and responded, saying she always takes notes and is happy to share. After this, I said “to clarify, this person was asking everybody in the meeting if they took notes.” Then some of the other men started stumbling over themselves about whether they took notes.
The lady is the most sr. Manager (level wise) in the meeting. There were only one or two other managers in the meeting, also men. The person who asked is an IC.
lol @ all the triggered fragile masculinity in this thread
The entire thread is about begin triggered. You are triggered and complaining about people being triggered based on a post made by someone who was triggered because someone said something somewhere.
Laughing my ass off is being triggered? You’re drunk bro, step away from the keyboard.
Gtfo
No way, all their shortcomings are due to an external factor
