I am seeing contrasting reviews on Fidelity. Can someone please share the software engineering work culture over there? Is it more like fast paced or laid back work culture? TIA:) YOE:5yrs TC:120k$
Very laidback most of the time depending on your Business Unit. Tuesdays are typically dedicated for learning days.
Is every tuesday(full day) a learning day in your BU? Which BU is it?
Whole Tuesday or only few hours ?
That's is not accurate. it really depends on your team. My team uses github. So im not sure what the hell you're taking about. Tools means nothing. I learned a lot at Fidelity thanks because of the learning days
Culture is fairly laid back for the most part. Depends on your team for sure and what your projects are, as an intern I worked on an internal facing team and it was crazy relaxed, now I’m on a customer facing app and it’s definitely more intense but still on the relaxed side. Tuesdays are learning days so you can develop a lot with what interests you and your skill set. They are migrating to GitHub currently, and use modern tech stacks mainly but all that depends what team you’re on and BU
I’m in PI but my manager used to work in Asset Management and he says in that BU things are more intense so just depends
How is the WLB in PI?
Depends on the team. Most people in reviews say wlb is good and pay is low. On my team, wlb isn’t good and pay is low compared to tech companies, but comparable to other financial institutions. It’s not the worst place I’ve worked but not the best.
Currently interviewing… do you have any insight on WLB or workload for The health and reimbursement team
If you are aware, could you share any insight on CTG- Sanctions Team?
Fidelity is way too big of a company to generalize. But. In general it’s a slow moving chill organization. This isn’t move fast and break things. It’s wait till 50 business leaders finally sign off on a feature and then lay out a pretty reasonable timeline.
Did you apply to Fidelity? Curious to see what their base offer is with your YOE
Absolutely best WLB. Im in cloud and we have a dedicated learning day. The culture is a huge draw never met anyone toxic yet.
Do they offer dedicated learning day to contractors as well?
Good question I believe so but not 100% certain
Is fidelity a remote company?
Nope
How much is notice period ?
I was contractor in ds for 2 months. I would avoid fidelity. They don't even just github.
What does that mean? “Don’t even just GitHub”
I am working for Fidelity now. We are using Bitbucket and currently migrating to github.
