Asking on behalf of my friend. She has an offer from both Fidelity and Deutsche Bank. Same position and almost same compensation. Any other pros/cons that you guys can provide which will make this decision process easier. My TC - 150k Friend's TC - 0
Fidelity’s WLB and job stability is unmatched
Confirm
Did an internship at fidelity back in the day. Culture was good back then but almost cargo cultish around the owning family. Not bad though, just kinda weird. It’s nice that it’s private though. Shields you from too much investor scrutiny on projects. Mostly a Java shop if I remember correctly. Nice offices in both Raleigh and Dallas.
>shields you from too much investor scrutiny They are the investor 😂
Want stability, join Fidelity
Outside of echoing the other comments here I would emphasize Deutsche has a rather negative public image relative to Fidelities positive one. Deutsche has had many large scandals and in general bank cultures are more toxic than investment management firms
Fidelity is stable but salary levels are low. If you put the same amount of time at both places it’s no doubt your salary would be greater elsewhere.
Deutsche has the lowest salaries among peers and rarely gives salary increases (if they do they are minuscule) unless you get promoted, which is extremely difficult and takes 5 years in a role for most.
Fidelity. Jump in 2 years
What location? Guessing North Carolina as fidelity and Db both have hubs there. Both have good work life balance, deutsche bank more interesting work.
Deutsche Bank is more prestigious, since Fidelity does not have an investment banking division.
