I got into fight with my interviewer who was intentionally giving me hard time and was doing his best to make me look bad. Every question he asked, I answered and he kept twisting the problem, even though the original problem statement was different and kept pushing me to fail. So I knew that this guy is racist and there is no way I can pass, I yelled at him in front of his colleague and told him off. #tech
Perhaps he wanted to see how you act in difficult situations? Yelling at an interviewer is NOT an acceptable behavior.
So interviewee reacted in a similar way back to see if interviewer can act in difficult situation and get an idea of company culture.
You dont know how he was. He did it on purpose and each time I answered his Q. It came to a point that I knew he wanted me to fail, so it backfired because I knew if I was Indian, I would have passed
You both lost
Which company and what is your ethnicity?
You should have physically assaulted him, that’s obviously the next thing missing from your story
Can you give some examples of what was asked? How do you know it was not a pressure test interview where he was trying to dive deep to see how you respond? I’m not advocating for the style but especially if he did it in front of a colleague it could be the case.
first interview? that’s how a normal, good, interview works. you push with more twists until candidate fails. in this way you explore their depth of knowledge and also how they go about saying i don’t know. guess they dodged a bullet here
Then you get an ego boost? What a load of b.s.
you who? the interviewer? you’ve failed to understand. it’s trivial as interviewer to construct a question that all candidates will fail. that tells you nothing
Instead of yelling at your interviewer 🚩, you should have remained professional and expressed that the original problem statement is not aligned with the new requirements (it’s possible you didn’t fully understand the original question) and then immediately speak to your recruiter after the round claiming that you suspect you were unfairly evaluated/discriminated
Agreed on this approach, except if the interviewer was on the team I was going to be joining. There's no way I'd want to be a part of that, and at that point I wouldn't care about repercussions from confronting an interviewer about what appears to be bias/racism/sexism.
Ah go home Raaajesh, we all had that asshole interviewer
Did you already get a rejection? Maybe you’re hired.
You did the right thing. They are notorious for doing this

Question about women in their 30’s?
Was he Indian?
Yes
As expected, I’m an Indian and despise Indian managers for their Slave minded attitude ..there are few good ones and can’t disagree on that
