Average h1b holder here but looking to change the endless waiting for employment based GC. Regarding petition: -invested full amount (800k) -in a rural project via regional center -for 5 years Immediate benefits: -legal status, can remain in the country, layoffs won't force you out 4-5 months benefits: -EAD for you & spouse, can work for any employer w/o h1b, pick up any job(s) you like -Advanced Parole for you & spouse, can travel and return to states, no visa stamps or consular apps. 3 year benefits: -Approved eb5 and Adjustment of Status, Conditional Green Card (CGC) in hand. 5 year benefits: -conditions come off, GC in hand -get your 800k back and pay off all loans As you can see, there is no financial benefit. It's all on the immigration side. Eb1 and eb2 niw still have you dependent on h1b and joining the foot traffic across the US-Mexico border doesn't sound appealing to me. #AskMeAnything #ama #visa #greencard
How do I get in on this ?
It all begins with an attorney who has 100% approval rates and a long track record.
Any attorney that you would recommend?
Can you apply for EB5 even if you are not currently residing in US?
Absolutely, many eb5 applicants live outside US.
What are chances that you do not get your entire 800k back at end of 5 years
Given the vetting we did on this investment project, I'd say there is fairly low risk.
Can you please explain the criteria for the business? Can I for example create a Real Estate business and invest 800K into it?
You can do direct investment, however that is incredibly hard. Less than 4% of all eb5's are direct, rest are through regional centers. It easier to create the 10 jobs needed.
Eb5 is also retrogressed for Indians (assuming OP is an indian)
Rural projects have set-aside visas, so retrogression is not a big concern at this time. However, I can see a growing backlog in the near future as more applicants pile on.
Are you sure your timelines are correct? Assuming you were born in India, the priority date isn’t current, right? If you were born in China, it’s even worse.
No regression for rural projects at this moment, but this will change soon.
Thanks. Did you explore the option of taking an unsecured loan? Is that still allowed for this program?
What are the odds that you lose all your money ? Do they return your investment after 5 years ? Are you sure about that ?
Given the vetting we did on this investment project, I'd say there is fairly low risk.
But when do you get your money back ? And how ? Considering a 7% compounded growth rate that’s 300k atleast for the GC .
Thanks for the info. How did you go about vetting the investment projects and assess risk(s)?
Which project did you invest in?
Office building construction.
Location?
If you don't mind me asking, how did you amass 800k for the application? Sold stocks, real estate, any loans? Shouldn't you be getting a conditional greencard in 11-20 months ?
Stocks and home equity loan. Likely not that fast for cgc.
I saw ur other post. 400k stocks and 400k HELOC? Just curious, why not 800k HELOC?
