Filing Tax

I was on F1 till September 30 2017 and then my H1b begin this year on October 1st 2017. I have been in US since July 2013 , so I do not meet the substantial presence test. What software did you guys use to file your taxes? I tried Sprint Tax and it says it is not supported.

File for extension and then file in September. That will meet substantial presence test.

Do it on your own. First use creditkarma to fill out as resident and use the 1040 form from there to make adjustment as non resident.

Are you sure you don’t meet SPT? You wrote here since July 2013, that doesn’t really come into play

If you are on f1 spt doesn't apply. Only stars counting when you are on h1b

I filed as a non resident so used my unis software (glacier) for federal. And state I filed directly through the state government PDF.
