I didn't know about the lawsuit. I suspect, not everyone knows about it.
The significance is that LinkedIn is full of overflow of emotions cringe post with motivation, humble brag, hardly any real content that challenges the status quo as people are posting with their real names and job titles for their whole company and others to see. So it is a big deal about posting this at a relevant time to get some perspective and context.
