Heh guys, So from my past internship I have ~15k saved. Right now it’s just sitting in my bank account. I’ve researched and that’s really bad so I’m looking to invest it. I was thinking about opening a Vanguard account, and then a Roth IRA and max it (6k), and put that money in VTSAX or similar. Not particularly sure what to do w the rest. Also, I will be interning the spring and summer semster. Going forward, what should I do w my savings? Any financial advice would be appreciated. #personalfinance #investments
Maybe put 5k aside as emergency savings. You can put 2020 and 2021 contributions for IRA. Then just save until you are working again and have access to 401k Make sure to include international exposure, like 70% VTSAX and 30% VXUS. Or if you could do VOO
VTSAX and VXUS for the IRA? Or for the rest of the money? Or both?
VTSAX + VXUS for your IRA.
Mutual fund tickers: ARKK, ARKG, ARKW - less risky than individual stocks - more return than index funds - way better than holding cash
Instead of VTSAX? Or besides that?
